*2010 Explorers' Corner Photo Contest Winners Announced!*

February 1, 2010 - A letter from Olaf Malver, C.E.O. (Chief Exploratory Officer):

Dear Adventure Photographers!

Once again, we were overwhelmed with the beauty and quality of the photographs we received for this year's contest. We are so grateful for all the incredible images you have shared with us. Selecting a single winner from our gallery was difficult, but after much consideration we have chosen our top 3 winners:

1st Place - North Coast of Greenland Adventure

The winning image by Agust Atlason is simply extraordinary! It was taken on the Explorers' Corner 2010 explorartory trip on Greenland Forbidden Coast and imbues everything that true adventure is about: the unexpected cross point between man and nature - "wrapped" in the the destination (here an adventurer between an iceberg and our small vessel). It also shows technical brilliance and original composition - all taken from the top of the mast! The other two images speak for themselves as well - one being a landscape image and on a great wildlife picture.

December 17, 2010 - Submissions will be accepted starting at noon on December 21st! For an idea of what we are looking for, check out the incredible gallery from last year's contest including the winning photos.Once again we will choose the top 3 photos and 25 honorable mentions.

This year's prizes:

Grand Prize: Free Explorers' Corner trip to Croatia*
Second Prize: Digital Camera
Third Prize: Full color World Atlas

Here are the rules:

.jpg, .gif, or .png formats only
Images must capture adventure photography: destinations, action, wildlife
Maximum file size: 3 MB
Minimum file size: 600 KB
You can submit UP TO 3 images (any additional photos will NOT be considered)
Include your name and the location of the image
Submissions will be accepted Dec. 21, 2010, through Jan. 20, 2011

Check back daily to see if your photos made honorable mention (honorable mention photos are eligible to win one of five Explorers' Corner t-shirts). We will also post some of our favorites on our Facebook page. Remember, we’ll be taking submissions through January 20, 2011! The winners will be contacted via email and on the photo contest home page.
